Anyone have DreamWeaver templates?

melll

Android Enthusiast
I am in need for DreamWeaver templates, for IT Consulting, if anyone can provide me with the files this would be super great and I would be so thankful.

I am starting my own bussiness. This would help me a lot...

I know my ways in and out of Dreamweaver, but I need help with a template...

Thank you,

You can PM me it if you want too..

Moved your thread to Computers & IT to get a better response. As a fellow designer, why don't you just make some templates? They are pretty fun and easy ^.^

Although custom made is always the way to go IMO. Templates are hard to work with sometimes vs fresh code.

Oh I know fresh is good but I just dont have the time and I just need something up right now.

I have clients who want my service and need something ASAP sort of thing, but not just a cheap site, some nice template would be good...

I'd be careful about "selling" templates you didn't code yourself. You're putting yourself at risk of lawsuits and worse by doing so. They way sue happy people are today, they'll take everything you have, including the clothes on your back.

Good luck.

Im not selling templates though. I am wanting a template to use for my website. I will be doing IT consulting for companies...

Not to put words in anyone's mouth, but I *think* what IOWA was saying is that, if I provide you with a template, and you use that template and sell the results to a client, you might be at risk of a lawsuit. Not from me, because 1, I don't use dreamweaver and 2, I don't see the point in suing people (yet ;))...

Again, I just *think* that's what he was saying.

Sorry, I don't have any templates to help you out with. But, if you post more details about what you're doing and what you need as far as the templates are concern, we might be able to help you out.

:D

I am doing IT consulting for companies that want my service. To be a little more specific. I worked for Open Text for 5 years and I want to start my own business with clients who prefer to have my service. 24/7 support is what I am offering the clients. I just need a website ASAP. I need a dreamweaver FLASH or HTML template for dreamweaver to put my info such services offered, costs, etc etc. Of course im going to edit the template to put my own info and modify to the way I want it. But I am not selling any templates or websites.

I dont know why people keep thinking I am selling templates as my own. That has nothing to do with why I need the template.

I need a site to be up for my business, that is all....

For me the confusion was the wording of your initial posts. To solve your issue, I'd say hit the pavement hard (ala Google) and start hunting around. If you're going to be a successful entrepreneur you need a "do it yourself" and "nothing can stop me" attitude. This should only be a minor bump in your road.

For $50-$100 there are plenty of great looking templates that can be had all across the web from various sources. Don't limit yourself to just dreamweaver, if you're not proficient in dreamweaver using it to edit templates will just make it look tacky, unrefined, and amateur.

In business, image is everything, and your website will often be a first impression for your new clients. Web presence is a big deal, and it's not something to cheap out on. Personally, I'd either look into hiring a professional designer who can meet your needs, or learn to code by yourself which is a great fun project that can enhance your skill set at the same time.

In the helping spirit of Android forums, I'm going to post a few links to some templates to get you started. The best part about web design/pages is they can always be evolved or replaced. Here are some places that might be able to help you out.

Some of these look really good for a template. Best of luck on your endeavors. I'm sure you'll do just fine. :)

Thanks! I will look into purchasing one of these right away. I just need something ASAP and once things are more settled I will design my own.

Thanks for the links :)

Did you manually create the Template directory?

DW gets a bit shirty if you try and do stuff for it... I swear DWMX has the personality of a 3 year old child!

Failing that, rename the file with the bad links and get DW to update the links in the page.

MX is like a box of chocolates - Someone's usually eaten the good bits already!

I do web-designing, I am alot more of a web-coder. If you are good with photoshop or fireworks then create your own website. Make sure you do CMS sites as they sell like hot cakes and take inspiration from some of the wordpress templates as well. I am sure you will find lots of templates on torrent sites and alot of free templates online (I know, I have found loads) ;)

I tend to make the basis of the website and then create the design over it. So all the boxes etc are all done and ready. At least you dont have to worry about the coding ;)

Ok - I figured it Out !!!

When I edited the .dwt template - I used "SAVE AS" to save the file -- This is WRONG!
I should have used just "SAVE", and then DreamWeaver asks if I want to update the files created with the template.

Continuing Questions:
- Where does DreamWeaver store the information about what pages were created with which template ?
