anyone here work in a factory??

Just got a new job in a factory doing creeler/tufting work. The name of the factory/company is Mohawk. Its supposed to be the worlds largest carpet manufacturing company. Just wondering if anyone has experience in doing this kind of work and what its like. I know it will be a whole lot different than my other job as i was a part time prep cook for a catering service. Here i will be making about 2 dollars more than what i was and i have a set schedule now all 11-7 and very unlikely to get laid off especially in my department.

I work in a cleanroom factory at Intel right now (today is my 10 year anniversary there, as a matter of fact). And before that, I worked in an Alcatel factory that made underwater fiber optic cables where I did quality control testing.

I worked in an Ann Summers factory. I worked in the vibrator department. It was awful stuff. Saved a much as I could then quit and started trading on the forex markets at home. Haven't looked back since

Ugh, that name Alcatel still bothers me. My dad left Polaroid and we all moved to NC for him to work there. Laid him off in less than a year.

You're able to support yourself *mainly* from forex trading? Be honest. How many hours per day do you spend on the internet on average?

I'm in the food service industry but just got a new job that makes my current one look like a joke, REALLY hope it'll work out for the long term so I can save and buy some serious property.

Yes.

Spend on the computer anywhere between 5 and 10 hours spread out over a whole 24 hour day. Just depends how the markets are and whether I'm winning or losing :p

And now with technology with phones and apps I'm able to close positions on the go. Of course, I can open positions on my phone, but the charts aren't detailed enough on apps

The Vulcan did years ago. Being a Vulcan - he rode his bike (Triumph Daytona at the time) up to the time clock and punched in when he would have been late.

Same here. I didn't move, thankfully, at least not very far, but I started there right out of ITT, and they closed the factory 9 month later. I was unemployeed for almost a year before I got in here at Intel.
