Anyone in VA?

My little brother is in the Navy and stationed in Virginia. He needs a new phone and I was thinking about adding a line to my Sprint account for him. Im thinking EVO, EVO Shift, or the Epic. He's coming from a dumbphone on T-Mo.

I Just wanted to hear from any users about actuall Sprint coverage in this (these) area(s)... He is in Norfolk most of the time, and Va Beach and Richmond for fun on the weekends. Any experiences? Thanks!

Used to live there, still have some Sprint-using family members up there. Richmond to Norfolk/Va Beach/etc isn't a problem...don't be afraid to add the extra line.

the greater Hampton Roads area has great 3G Sprint coverage. it doesn't slip off until you get into Suffolk and rural parts of Va Beach and Chesapeake. Richmond 3G is great and decent 4G service.

I'm in Hampton. My new Sayno Zio gets spotty signal. The gps feature isn't accurate. No way am I near 3g speeds.

Thanks... sorry to hear about your Zio. But, my bro jumped on the EVO when Sprint started offering 125$ service credit for porting to Sprint. He has been more than happy with the coverage. And we got 125 bucks out of the deal... Equates nearly to a 2-line family plan being free for one month! Hes on the Naval base in Norfolk, and travels to Va. Beach and Richmond regularly. Says Sprints coverage has been great. Hes glad he made the move.

I used to live down there and travel a lot for work. Most of Va has great Sprint coverage, and it's only getting better. Don't forget it's the south and Sprint is the #1 sponsor of Nascar so you know they will have good service :)
