Help Anyone know how to transfer a movie Digital copy to the S3

I was trying to transfer Act of Valor to my S3 tonight and can't figure it out. The steps are: Insert disk select transfer movie. I select Android (beta). It then says select your Android device from below but it never lists any devices. When I hook the S3 up via USB it comes up as a camera.

Any help?

My guess is it's trying to download the movie in Ultraviolet format? If so, look to Flixter for the ability to play it on your phone. By unlocking the Ultraviolet version you are giving yourself access to it with your Ultraviolet user ID. Whenever those DVDs offer you a digital copy it will come with DRM protection which severely limits which devices you can play it on. (I loathe DRM for this reason.) Before Ultraviolet, they offered movies in iTunes and Windows Media formats only.

Most people circumvent DRM when they rip their movies for phone or tablet playback. It's not that hard. Just takes a couple programs. (Handbrake is my favorite.) The S3 plays MP4 files natively. I also have several in the old XVID format. For that I purchased MX Player. It's a movie app that plays pretty much anything.

In future, you may want to look at buying your DVDs from Amazon. Many times they offer the digital version free as a bonus in their On Demand Video. Apple has DRM baked into iTunes which is one reason Hollywood is so married to it.
