Anyone know of an App that can turn the screen on

I bought a great little app that turns my screen off my tapping it instead of having to use the mechanical button on the top of the phone. It's called "Screen Off".

Does anyone know of an app that will allow me to turn my phone on by doing something like long clicking on the home button or something like that?

How can you press the home button if the screen is off? (From the Nexus One perspective, the home key is part of the screen).

The home key can never be overridden in Android code, so you won't find an app like that.

Some clever so-in-so might work something else out though!

I installed No Lock by BoD and now I can use the volume rocker switch to wake up the phone.

It would be an easy app to write, but you wouldn't want to do that. Your battery would drain within a few hours no matter what since the screen and consequently the device will never sleep. I hate having to reach over to hit that power button too, but it's a small price to pay for having a clean front side

I use Screen Off and No Lock both work excellent together.

Widgetlocker, though not apparently designed with this exact purpose on mind, should allow you to wake the phone with various hard keys.
