Recently started getting this orange icon '66% memory used 'tap to boost' notification'
I haven't downloaded anything like this and can't find where to get rid of it.

Do you have ES File Explorer? I got something similar when trying that app out and it had so much bloat and ads and crap in it since I last used it... including something almost exactly like you mention.

Apps you download often package this stuff in without telling you. Even if they didn't initially it could always come in the form of an app update or flipping a switch on their side.
