Anyone use the "KitKat Launcher" from Googleplay ?

I was considering putting the "KitKat Launcher" app from Googleplay on my older tablet that has ICS and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on whether that app is worth installing or not.

It is supposed to give close to a "KitKat" type experience for devices that might not be easily upgradeable to KitKat itself.

If you're just now trying out something different in launchers for the 1st time w/this device,I'd broaden my horizons & look beyond the stock Google/Android experience, unless that's what you're after.
Launchers meant for phones typically work just as well on tablets.
I recommend HOLO LAUNCHER,but,a lot of folks prefer NOVA.
Both look a lot like stock, but, offer a LOT more customization options, very easy/intuitive settings to get the exact look & feel you're after.

Thanks for the ideas, still deciding which one I might try.

I think one reviewer said the KitKat launcher made their device have faster performance. Is that a benefit most of the launchers have ?

I was hoping to have my older tablet respond a little faster and run a little smoother.

That's been my experience,a lot smoother scrolling, especially in the app drawer, when selecting the vertical scrolling option.

The single thing that you can do that improves almost all performance is a Wipe Cache Partition (deleting temporary data and not touching permanent data or settings). If becomes contaminated over time and everything slows down as a result.

I do it on my Droid Turbo every Saturday.

Nova Prime does provide configuration options that is intended to improve performance.

Absolutely! I've had nova then and I've got Nova again and it only gets better..
I completely agree. I've had Nova launcher for a while. Started with free then bought it. It only gets better, and yes works with ics 4.0.
