If Sprint goes LTE, it won't matter. By that time the Evo will be replaced by something else much faster anyways. Honestly how many people are gonna stick to the Evo next year when the new phones come out? I'm assuming most will get the new device.

Wimax will be around even with the adoption of LTE because Wimax is so much cheaper to deploy that it will be used to fill in LTE gaps and become part of the backhaul structure for LTE data transmission because Wimax is cheaper than normal fiber-cable backhaul.
