I loved my captivate, especially compared to the rest of ATTs garbage android phone.. SO what will be the next AT&T android phone to get , thats going to be better all around than the captivate

Well, Hi did ask "That is going to be better than the Captivate". "Better" is kind of a subjective term because peoples ideas of "better" are different.

I think that most people wouldnt consider any of those Moto models "better", but there is Acer Liquid Metal S120 spotted running Android 2.2 on AT&T bands in FCC -- Engadget

Which would probably give that Capt. a good run for the money if all the features on it work.

A good indirect alternative for the Captivate is going to be the Canadian Bell's Desire Z. It's just like the G2 but once unlocked will be fully capatible with all current AT&T bands. I am 95% sure I will be getting one when they come available in the next few weeks and Ditching the Captivate.

^^^ whats so special about Acer Liquid metal?
3.6-inch 800 x 480?? 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230-1 processor ???
Just Froyo? hopefully by the time, AT&T get it...captivate will have Froyo as well.

So again whats speciall abt it? or am I missing something here?

The biggest one is (well presumably) ALL the features will work.
GPS, Bluetooth voice commands and HIDs, likely faster, wont shut itself off randomly, wont have rear speaker problems, wont get bricked by updates, I could go on... Just read this forum for 10 minuts and look at all the SERIOUS issues people have been having with these phones. Im sure it would have it's share of issues but Im willing to wager not near as many and severe as the problems folks have been having with the Captivate.

Now that olympus has my attn.. I hope ATT finally steps it up and gets a phone that all other carriers could actually envy
