Help Anyway to set auto power up?

Hi all just a quick question and brief background. After my phone was recently stolen i managed to finally track it down using find my mobile after a few days when the device was finally powered up again. I was wondering is there a way to set my phone to automatically power up again after say a minute or an app that could do this so i can set it to do so when i'm out etc should this happen again?

No, I'm afraid not. If the phone is off it really is off. Android is not running, so no android app can run, so no android app can wake it.

You could design a phone that way, but you'd need some process to keep running in order to turn the rest on (not the Android OS but something lower-level). If the device hasn't been designed that way, no app can do anything about it for the reason above.

Would that be the case as some alarm clock functions (on my older phones admittedly) do just that surely it must be a possibility Also given i have read about peoples phones automatically switching on albeit due to a glitch of unknown origin.

A lot of old "dumbphones" could turn on for an alarm, i.e. were designed with a low-level alarm process that kept running even when the phone was "off" (in quotes because obviously it wasn't completely off). With very few exceptions Android phones do not do this (nor incidentally do iPhones, or recent Blackberry's - though the pre-BB10 phones did).

A glitch, short-circuit or accidental press of the power button can turn the phone on, but you can't rely on those (and they are not likely to be a good sign).

Ok guys thanks for the help it seems a shame and slightly odd though that you cant access the bios in anyway to make this happen and set wake up events a useful feature imho given the internal clock clearly runs as long as there is power to the phone.
