Root AOSP helper JD issue. Substitute?

So, I use juice defender to help micromanage battery saving on my device.

I keep on trying to force install AOSP helper. Tried on PAC, AOKP, and CM. All three are AOSP based, so I thought it should install properly. Why do I want the helper? I use my device heavily certain times of the day and sporadically the rest of the day. Auto turn off of data during these times are a bother because then I would have to wait for data to pop back up. Sometimes it takes a whole minute. I know the big battery killer is having 4G radio and 3G on at same time. Any way to toggle 4G off when screen is?

TLDR? Any way to make AOSP helper work or is there an app to auto toggle 4G radio off when screen is off?

Not too sure how well something like that will work with our phone. Most methods/apps I've tried in the past don't properly reset the data mode when toggling from 3g back to 4g.

Doesn't JD turn data off when the screen's off anyway and just toggle it back on intermittently (like every 15minutes) to pull data?

In my area, sometimes it takes up to a minute or two to get data back on which is why I am trying to find an app that switches so I have some type of data at screen on.

Tried it. Only found options to enable 3G only and not toggle back to LTE

Pretty sure the LTE/3G toggle does not work correctly on any of the JB ROMs, it will turn 4G off but then you have to go into the network mode menu to get 4G back on.

Tasker actually would do it... with the secure settings helper.

However... As nokoko said, toggling it back on will not work. As far I can tell, it's like there's a mismatch on the network number type.
