Apex Launcher changing background when editing icons?

Whenever I go on Apex Launcher, and go to hide icon names, it re-sizes my wallpaper to like, 200% so it looks like this:

Why? I want to hide the names of my apps.

You can download A program called QuickPic from the Google Play store, then choose your wallpaper using QuickPic and it will allow you to choose the proper size
