Help Apex Launcher vs Stock Sense Launcher

Don't know 100% but if I remember correctly from reading somewhere you should remove all your widgets and apps from your Sense homescreen, will then use less battery and less resources.

I could be totally wrong but whenever I've used a different launcher I've always removed everything as I don't need it anymore.

^ What S/he said. Once all widgets and/or any running applications are uninstall from the stock launcher your good to go.

Sorry guys without sounding dumb. What exactly does the Apex launcher do? Does it replace sense totally. Had a look on xda site and I like it. Am I still able to use my current apps? I have an unbranded One X on T-mob, do I have to do anything complicated to install Apex? Can I reset the phone back to Factory settings i.e. Sense 4.0? Would it void my warrantee?

It replaces your Launcher, so amongst other things, you'll be able to replace icons for apps, you'll be able to use different homescreen/app drawer transitions. It adds a little bit of "bling" and is a bit more customisable than sense.

You'll be able to use your apps etc, but all the Sense Widgets would be unusable.

Also, it doesn't void the warranty at all. If you don't like, all you need to do is uninstall as you would any other app. :)

@ El Presidente, I installed the APEX Luncher yesterday. Its taking some getting use to. Where do I get good widgets from that work with it. I would like a clock and date widgit, and also a good calender, and photo album similar to the Sense grid.

Another question regarding the ROM CLEAN as stated on XDA. This will remove sense completly, but would I be able to re-install sense and again will this void my warrentie?

For a clock widget, you might want to take a look at Advanced Clock Widget? It's pretty customisable, but on the flip side, it's basic. There's Go Weather, it says weather, but there is a clock widget in there and it looks pretty nice along with having a few theme options.

Not sure about Picture Widgets, would this do: MultiFrame Widget. If not, just search for Picture/Photo Widget on the market (sorry, sort of in a rush or I'd have a look for you).

Jorte is a popular calendar widget: Jorte.

Regarding the No Sense script, you need to unlock your bootloader for that so it would void your warranty. You can relock the bootloader, but HTC can still tell you've unlocked. Hope all that makes sense.

If you can't find a decent Photo Widget, let me know and I can have a scan for a decent one when the wee man goes to bed tonight. :)

I'm loving the stock launcher actually, everything flows nicely in Sense 4. But then again I've always loved Sense so it's always been a no brainier to me. Maybe once I root I'll try the Apex launcher so I can get the full experience of stock 4.0 (well the skin anyway). I think if the Sense 4 kept the stock multitasking menu then I would have no complaints
