APK installer

So what's the point in an apk installer? I've installed a few apps without it.

I haven't used an apk installer, but my guess is that it just makes it easier by automatically searching your sd card for apk files instead of having to manually find them.

I'm only guessing.

it probably prevents you from having to go in to settings and and changing stuff to allow it as well.
