I set up my phone with the default APN settings from Straighttalk for v2.3.4. They don't publish settings for v2.3.6.
Name default ST
APN tfdata
Proxy <not set>
Port <not set>
Username <not set>
Password <not set>
Server <not set>
MMSC http://mms-tf.net
MMS Proxy mms3.tracfone.com
MMS Port 80
MCC 310
MNC 410
Authentication Type PAP
APN Type <not set>
APN protocol IPv4
This worked okay except I am not able to receive photos in text messages. I can send them though.
Then I tried some settings I found on droid-live:
Name droid-life.com
APN tfdata
Proxy <not set>

MMSC http://mms-tf.net
MMS Proxy mms3.tracfone.com

MNC 410
Authentication Type PAP
APN Type default,supl,mms,hipri
APN protocol IPv4
same result...can't receive photos in text messages.
Then I tried settings I found on forums.andriodcentral

Authentication Type none
APN Type internet+mms+supl
APN protocol IPv4
this didn't work at all. I think the "+" sign in the APN type causes a problem.
I found another post that said you needed to have two APN settings...one for talk and one for MMS. My phone only allows one to be activated at one time....so this made no sense to me at all.
what should I try next?
