Since i updated my GS3 recently i am unable to change the bottom dock icons when i enter the "edit" function i cant seem to figure out how change them around.

These pictures should help explain.

Pretty sure a recent update for ICS stopped that feature (don't ask me why, very daft indeed)

Jellybean allows the fuction again though.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

you need to make the room on the dock first, when there is less than 4 icons on the dock and you hold a icon on a page that dock will stay visible and you wont see your 2nd picture

i cant even move them to make room.... or edit them :\ surely there must be a way

you make room by putting one in the trash you currently have in the dock that you want removed, the trash can does not delete the app it just removes it from the page

onces its removed you can drag something new to the vacant spot on the dock

Go to the home screen where it looks like your first image. Long tap on one of the icons in the dock. You should be able to remove it by dragging it to the X on the top of the screen. After you did that, you should be able to long tap on any icon on our home screen and drag it to the dock.

Note that you have to be on your normal home screen to do that. Don't go to the point where it looks like your second image.

That doesnt work i CANNOT select the apps in the bottom dock at all. If i hold my finger on them to move them it does nothing their non responsive ONLY respond to the tap function which opens them.

I refer to my earlier post, I've seen threads about the same issue on these very boards. There may be solutions in there that can help the OP.

I'd link but gotta get back to work :o A quick search should be all you need.

So i rang up Samsung today and well apparently its a feature they removed...which makes NO sense at all. I suggest anyone else facing this issue call them up and file a complaint as i am about to do the same. This is the most ******ed thing ive ever witnessed in my life, they didnt even go about the right way people who have apps in there that they have uninstalled are left with blanks there this is such bullshit.

You are right, It was a recent Samsung update that caused it and yes it is permanent. I cant remove an app I put in there an hour before my phone updated and now I am stuck with the app there when I came to realize that I hate that app.
Ball seriously dropped samsung

I have all the latest updates and have no issues. However I do not try to change /switch via the edit screen. I scroll to a screen with open space add the app I want. Then press and hold the app I don't want pull it out of the dock then press and hold the app I want and pull it into the dock.

If that still doesn't work you could use a different launcher. Some offer multiple dock
Go launcher
Nova
Apex
Go launcher comes with a handbook app that explains how to set it up. Very user friendly and very customizable

I had the same problem and I updated last night to version 4.1.1 but the issue was not solved out in the new version yet.

And the new version 4.1.1 is getting worse because of the folder icons problem (you can not see all icons in the folder except 1 or 2, this means you don't know what is inside the folder until you open the folder)

Is there anyone to solve the issue?
