App Drawer Style

Hey guys,

Is there any way to change the style of the app drawer? The scroll-down function is really odd to me. Potentially an app that can adapt this? Thank you! :D

An alternative launcher, like Nova can change this, but it would also change your home screen setup too.

Would that be an option?

I actually just tried nova, which is what brought me here because of how intuitive the app drawer is! unfortunately it really hinders the sense 7 widgets completely, so I was trying to see if there was an alternative just for things like the app drawer and swipe transition effects :/

Yeah, 3rd Party Launchers stop you from using stock widgets unfortunately. :(

Whilst it's not exactly what you're looking for, take a look at an app called App Swap - The Smarter Drawer. It's not exactly what you want, but I think you might have to compromise.

I'll have a look and see if I can find anything else.

Thank you El Presidente!! You've been very helpful for an android newbie :)

Its true, the HTC app drawer lacks style. I've noticed over the years that they switched from left-right to up-down swiping. Its interesting though, if you swipe left-right in the drawer it will still move up-down for you regardless of the "error." I think they made it this way to ease frustration when they changed the flow of the drawer way back when and it has stuck around since then.

Think back, they were up-down before L-R.

That pre-dates my time in HTC Devices (M7/M8/M9),came reeeeeaaallll close to getting the EVOLTE when on Sprint.
The removable battery swayed me to the S3,woulda/shoula/coulda,I wrestled w/that decision for quite a while,flip-flopping while choosing in-store.....

Anyhoo,I like the vertical scrolling, but, don't care for the "pagination" in the scrolling, wish it were more free-wheeling,if you will.
That & more choice in grid layout (more columns).
Same w/the desktop.
Add-in those choices & perhaps some shortcut customizing & you have a winner.
Why the mfgs don't address this is beyond me,stock home launchers are econo-class at best, most of the rest are bicycles w/flat tires......

+1
Very well could be. Things are getting more and more foggy!
One of a number of User Interface things that have flipped and flopped and flipped again over the years.
I remember my 1st phone,(Huawei Ascend,the OG one on Cricket& MetroPCS) :paperbagdroid:
Can't remember if it actually had an app drawer, but, man, that horrendous 3X3 desktop layout was enough to send any newcomer screaming out the door, pulling their hair, running into traffic.............. :wtfdroid:
