App for paying bills in online bank, barcode reader for browser

Can I use barcode reader app to pay bills in online bank?

If I just read the barcode and paste the numbers into the box that asks barcode, it does not work.

Physical barcode reader works fine with these bills, but I would like to use my phone to pay bills, not pc.

Im not sure what you are asking here. Bacrcode reader apps are made to check prices of items with barcodes, not paying bills. Those are two entirely different things.

Here in banks in Finland they use barcode "CODE 128". It has accountnumber, referencenumber, sum and date.

With PC, in online bank I click "read barcode", read the barcode with barcode reader like
ZEBEX
and click "Approve". That is all, bill is paid. All in browser.

Now Android has browser and barcode reader app. Can I use it in similar way?

Cant you just setup and save "pay to:" info on your banks website? I just enter like the electric company's name and my electric account # on the bank website once. Then after that when I want to pay I just enter the amount I want to pay next to their saved "pay to" info and click ok. Bank sends them an EFT (or actually mails them a physical check for smaller companies/people) with my account # as a memo.

If I'm already logged in to the bank website paying a bill is 6 keystrokes including the decimal and one mouse click for me. Not getting why a barcode reader needs to be involved.

I had a thought later about your post and how barcode scanners we used to use at work way back, plugged into the keyboard port and functioned (to the apps) as a keyboard. So I thought maybe there's a barcode scanner keyboard on the market for barcode->text entry and looks like that's what this is.

Yeah, that operates similarly as a physical barcode reader. The problem is, it does not work. If it did, it would be exactly what I want!

To pay a bill takes a lot more keystrokes.
Date: 2 if there is a calendar but 10 max
Account#: 14
Referencecode: minimum 9
Sum: usually 5 or 6

That is about 30 taps compared to only few taps with a reader.

Barcode that works in a physical reader:

Test account for bank:
First

Then
https://pankki.tapiola.fi/ebank/sepapayment/sepa-start.do

Barcode part is in "Lue viivakoodi" (Read barcode in english)

It just gives the numbers 01959551, which is correct but does not give the wanted result: date, ref#, sum, account#.

It would be also very nice to make my phone act as physical reader! Via bt or usb!

If one does not exist, it would be a nice idea for an app, I think.
