App for photographing star trails?

After some extensive Googling I came up with nothing so thought I would ask here. Does anyone know if there is an app that allows you to take time lapse pictures of star trails?

Thank you!

The trouble is that all phone cameras have different hardware and capabilities, and thus all market camera apps have to use the android API to drive the hardware, and i dont think the API has the facility to do looooooooooooooong exposures.

Conceivably you could somehow take lots (by which i mean hundreds) of pictures at the same exposure at timed intervals, then do some temporal stitching to simulate a long exposure (something like this: Star Trail Photo Simulates Long Exposure - PentaxForums.com).

How you'd get the timed shots i'm not sure. Maybe something like tasker could set it up. Or use a spy cam app like this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.zecurisoft.mhc1105
