app icons disapeared

OK, this is weird... earlier today I was playing some of my downloaded games no problem, but battery wore down, so I shut off my phone till I could go and charge it. Now when I plugged my phone in and turned it on, all my game icons disappeared. so I opened the app thing where all apps are shown. All factory installed apps appear as normal, but every single app I downloaded is greyed out with an SD icon in the lower left of the icon. When I tap any of the icons, I get a message that says "application not installed."

So, I went to settings - applications - application manager. the icons looked normal, so I tapped them to find some with an option to move to SD card which I haven't installed one just yet, it also showed like how much data from each game and such, but there's absolutely no way to play them as like i stated earlier when I try to load one (goes for all of them) from the applications screen, they're greyed out with an SD icon and says not installed, but according to my app manager, they are installed....

any ideas on wth is going on?

Welcome to Android Forums.

What phone are you using and is it root-ed? With that information we can move your question to the forum dedicated to discussing it.

Can you see the content of your micro SD card with your file manager? Maybe you need to go into Storage Settings and check if it's mounted.
