App Idea - Please Create - Bird/Plant/Animal Identifier/Collector

I know nothing about creating apps, but my kids and I have come up with an interesting idea that will get people out in the real world exploring!

The user would be out exploring and when they see a different bird they could take a picture of the bird. The app would have to recognize the type of animal and then the app would 'Collect' the animal in your collection database. Then off again to find the next animal.

I figured it would need at least 3 different apps. One for Birds - One for Plants - One for other animals. (could be separate for bugs, fish ...

I know it would be alot of work but the possibility of this could lead to a very big following.

Nice idea, but I suspect too complex to implement. Sounds like very sophisticated image recognition.
