App not going away ...

Whenever I open Chrome on my phone and then attempt to "trash" the remnant of the program (or whatever that is representing) I get no results. All other apps this works with, just not the Chrome browser. Any idea what could be the problem? Any suggestions?

What I am referring to is the environment that is brought up when you press the square at the bottom of the screen. You get all your current apps and a trash can icon. When you press the icon the apps go away, normally.

Ok, the recent apps list. I've never met one with a trash can symbol, so that must be how your manufacturer has styled the "clear all" button.

Short answer, don't know. I never touch that button (it's absolutely not needed, and a bad thing to do regularly), and don't use Chrome, but when I tested both just now on my phone it cleared the list completely, including Chrome. I can only assume that on your phone it is restarting immediately, but that's only a guess and I don't know why it would.

I just don't use it. It's just a browser, nothing special.

The only thing I've found tied to it is Android system webview, in that the phone only allows either Chrome or the Webview app for that function, so won't let me disable both at the same time. But I've spent many months with Chrome disabled (and on my previous phone I just uninstalled it), with no effect on anything else.

Ah, well I've never owned a Huawei. I did use a MIUI-based ROM on my old HTC Desire for a few weeks, but that was in 2011 so I don't recall the fine details...
