Hi,
This is an announcement of a somewhat different app on the Market, in the Health section. Its called SpotMole and allows you to take a snapshot (or use an image preloaded in your phone's gallery) of a skin spot/mole that bothers you. Next, it runs an analysis (image processing + pattern recognition) to attempt to determine if the mole is safe, or presents some signs or potential to become malignant (melanoma). It is based on well established dermatological features assessment, and achieves above 80-85% true positive/negative rates. It has its limitations, but before seeing a doctor it may be a useful tool for a quick in-home check.
Cheers
