App that turns off the Data when the phone gets locked

Requesting one that simply doesn't do more than turning off the data/lte when i lock the phone and turns it back on when i unlock it. Tried Juice Defender and it did not work. Having root.

What version of Android are you using on your root-ed device? Did you replace the ROM?

There is an app Wifi/data auto on off by Whueric on playstore that does just what you ask. Seems to work as advertised..
Or
Wi-Fi auto by Javelin

Using 5.0.2 with root. I've tried all of the above but none of them will turn the data off when i'm locking the phone.. The device is a redmi note 3

MacroDroid will, provided the phone is Rooted...

MD used to be able to do that all the time, and that is how I used it. I always turn off DATA and WiFi when I lock my phone.... that stops the Internet and useless app activity in the background, and preserves battery life immensely.

Currently, now with 5.x or higher, it is impossible for any app to turn off DATA unless the phone is rooted, and your app has "permission" to do so....

if your phone is rooted, and no app including MacroDroid will turn off DATA, you need to look at the Permissions for the app.
