app to automatically connect

Hi guys!

Is there an app that would connect automatically to wi-fi or 3g once any of them is available. I like Android but am fascinated by Blackberry's service to automatically toggle between conenctions and since i have an umlimited data plan i can be hooked on all the time. I found some apps but they don't toggle between wifi/3g automatically. In short, i would like to be always connected either to a wifi or 3g if wifi is not available. Does anyone have any tips?

Thanx!

You don't need apps for this.
Switch on Mobile Data and WiFi permanently.
If WiFi available the phone will toggle to WiFi.
So you will have automatically the right connection :)

Make sure you set your Wifi Sleep policy to "NEVER".

Your phone by default connects to 3G. So, if no Wifi is near, 3G will be your data connection.

Once you connect to a known wifi source (and if you keep your Wifi toggle "always on") -- it will always automatically reconnect to that source when in range.

One caveat: If you do keep the Wifi toggle "always on", there is a chance of battery drain if you're out of wifi range but the phone continuously tries to find a wifi source to connect to.

If keeping wifi on has a detrimental affect on your battery life, you may want to consider manually toggling wifi on when you know you're within range of a previously connected-to wifi source.

Menu > Settings > Wireless and network > Wifi settings > Menu > Advanced > Wifi sleep policy > select NEVER

...and prepare mentally for a faster drain of your battery!

The NEVER doesn't drain your battery.

It's the searching and never finding that can.

The NEVER part just ensures that when you're connected to wifi and your phone goes to sleep (e.g., display turns off), the phone doesn't default back to 3G.
