App to make Motorola Droid stop ringing when touching screen?

Is there an app to download to make the Motorola Droid stop ringing when touching the screen? I can't figure out a way to turn off the sms ringer other than just letting it play out. Any suggestions?

I'd like to know of an app like this as well. It is kind of annoying to have your SMS/MMS tone going off for 30 sec & you have to unlock the phone and then either read the message or pull down the notification bar. I guess the easiest solution is to make my SMS/MMS tone only 5 sec or something, haha.

jbhump you can hit the volume rocker and it should shut it up

Tried hitting the volume rocker and it didn't work....anyone? It's driving me crazy. I don't want to hear the whole song every time

^^The volume rocker should work. Just tried it on a co-workers Moto Droid and it worked fine. Also worked fine when I had my Moto Droid. Maybe take it in and see if they will warranty it for you, or just wait it out. I see you may have a droid X on the 15th. Less than a week away now...

I have the Motorola Droid 2 and nothing stops the ringer. I have a loud long SMS ringer to wake me up at night but once i wake up i want that thing shut off. Help!
