App to make phone ring to find it, from a PC

All the apps I have found, to make your phone ring to help you find it, require sending an SMS from another phone. Doesn't help much when I am at home and can't find my phone. Is there an app to find my phone using my PC? Like, send an email?

Or maybe there is an app for my PC that sends an SMS? I can't find that either.

There's a few security apps that will help you find your phone from your computer; Mobile Defense, Lookout, and WaveSecure, that I know of.

You can send a text message as an email..example: 1234567890@messaging.sprintpcs.com

Works on my phone using where's my droid.

"Where's My Droid" does this. If you send it a certain text message, it will ring the phone. I can't remember if it also raises the volume to the highest setting. I have it and it works.

And then I always wonder, "why don't I just CALL the phone to figure out where it is?"

I think that WaveSecure is the most simply of all of this kind of apps and it's a secure suite too!

Doesn't it use international SMS though?

Most cell phone website also allow you to send a text from their site like Sprint and Verizon

He wants a app that would make the phone scream if he had it on vibrator and lost out in the house or something. Lookout does it and will locate it on a map as well.

I had the same problem--no text ability other than my lost phone, no other phone to call my lost phone, just my pc. I downloaded Outlook from Google Play, tested its ability to find my phone (nailed it beautifully in seconds, and can view it on zoomed-in Satellite map) using my PC's browser, then tested the "scream" on my phone from same, and it's PERFECT! Just the right app!

If you've allowed it access in your phone's settings, why not just use the built-in Android Device Manager facility?
