App to reveal wifi wep passwords?

I'm in the middle of nowhere, and I have the slowest 3g connection imaginable, and most of the time it doesn't even work. My GF's parents (where I'm staying at) have a high speed wireless internet but they can't remember the password. My GF's android phone has the password stored. Is there any app that you can download to reveal what the password actually is so I can put it into my evo and get internet?
 
Go to their computer, type in the ip address of the router. You should be taken to the admin login page. You should be able to figure it out from there.
 
There is no app that will allow you to do that. I could reset the router with the reset button if it's on the back and claim ignorance if it doesn't come back up. Or log into the router with the gateway IP and see if it asks you to log in. If you can get in, go to the wireless section and disable the password.

Don't have access to it, feel kinda weird asking that from them. It's way up secluded in their master br.
 
YOu do not need to be near the router, just near (actually at) a computer that is connected to the router. Enter the ip address of the router to get to the router's admin page.

Don't know the IP address of the router ? Chances are it is set at the default for that manufacturer, and chances are the password to access the router's management console is also set to default. Use google to search for the defaults for the router manufacturer. For example D-link uses 192.168.0.1 as its IP and Admin for both the userid and password. Here is a list of such things:

Once in you can go to the wireless section to find out what the WEP or WPA key is. That's what you need to know to connect to the router. If you get to this point think about writing the key down and having someone tape it to the underside of the router.

Google the make/model of the router and you should be able to find the IP address and admin username password. Use any device that is already connected to log into the router interface and find out or even change the wifi password.

It was pulled from the market some time ago but the apk is still out there for "penetrate".

Will only work for certain brands of routers but worth a shot. Google it.
 
192.168.1.1 user admin password is admin or password. Make sure u go on a computer that is connected to the router then go to wireless settings its not that hard. Win7 you can click properties on the wifi and click show characters and it will show u the password. It is easy unless your not that good with computers
 
You guys are generalizing on the passwords and logins. Linksys changed them several times. AT&T/Bellsouth has different ones depending on the model of the router. There may not even be a password. But if the OP doesn't know how to use the browser to access it, telling him anything else is about useless.
 
If your girl friend has it in her phone it should be easy. Go into the wireless networks and into the wifi settings where you can see a list of all available wireless networks. Go into the one that you want to get access to and you should be able to see the password there by clicking on the show password checkbox. At least I think it works that way. Unfortunately I don't have one setup at the time. I may check it out tonight though when I go home.

Of course if my kid was giving away my wireless access point passphrase behind my back and I found out about it someone would be getting the smackdown layed on em.
 
First, if you could magically discover WEP passwords, it would pretty much make them useless, right?

Also, going to the router webpage is useless if you don't know the password.

So, ask her parents if you can reset the password. If they say yes, reset the router with the button in the back, then set the password to something everyone knows.

In addition, depending on the router, you might be able to set up "guest" access so that you can connect to the internet, but not other machines that are hooked to the router.

Um...you can easily (not magically) discover WEP passwords, and WEP is pretty much useless. WPA2 is a different matter, but WEP is simple to crack using a linux live CD. If you have a laptop lying around, follow the tutorial there for how to discover the password.

It's perfectly reasonable to ask if an app has been written for Android that makes it this simple. Don't know of one, but I know a lot of security guys that wouldn't mind having one so they could break a client's WEP password with their phone, to show how insecure WEP really is.
