As our family was celebrating Christmas yesterday we were streaming photos to the tv from our phones. I realized that at any time, I was possibly expecting a text message which I wouldn't want my entire family to read.
Is there any kind of app or option to put a pause on any incoming notifications? Something like an on/off switch just to temporarily hold displaying any previews of new texts, messages, or emails in the notification bar.
Both the "Do not disturb" stock feature and the app "No pause" just silences notifications, but the notifications are still visible on the phone when they arrive.
I don't want to enable airplane mode, because I don't want to limit the functions of my phone... I'd still like to be able to view a youtube video, view websites and social media, etc. I just want a "safety net" so that I know people looking at my phone won't read something that's personal to me.
You'd think this would be a pretty useful function - think of all the times you share your phone screen with someone. Sometimes I even need someone to hang on to my phone when I'm driving etc. While most of the times, it's not a big deal, but for those times when you're having a personal/sensitive conversation with someone, it sure would be nice to not worry about it.
