[APP]Traffic Assistant

TomasCZ

Newbie
Hi everyone,
I have created the App for monitoring traffic density on roads. I hope that will be useful for many people. I would be very grateful if you could give me some feedback.

Thanks
Tom

Hi all,
I released update 2.10 for Traffic Assistant with new features.

- You can create a route
- New traffic events are supported: accidents, roadworks, narrow lines, slippery roads, precipitation and road closure (route option)
- Link to Waze
- Many minor improvements and bug fixes

Where doea it pull the traffic data from? And which parts of the world does it work in?

Also, good luck with your app, and congratulations for including a genuinely useful privacy policy...

Traffic data are provided by TomTom. Coverage you can check here. I made few apps for Windows Mobile and there you cannot publish the App without privacy policy. It's the force of habit:-)

Update:

Added graphical indicator of traffic jam (red) and roadworks (yellow) for your route on main screen
Many minor improvements and bug fixes

- swipe to left delete
- long tap and swipe up/down for reorder

Nice one. Looks useful. I'll let you know if you can make any improvements ;)

Hm, it just crashed on me after defining start and finish points on the map.

It's really strange. I hope that I didn't make any stupid mistake in new update. It's crashing every times if you try to update new route?

Can't reproduce the problem at the moment. Seems to be ok now.

If you are using Nexus 5 (6.0.1), I found crash in diagnostic log. At this moment I don't know what is means, but I try to find it.

Also, what's the process to define a new route? I've put start and end points on the map, but no route is created.

Edit: Ok you have to tap the update icon on the map.

I notice you've got a fair number of installs. I'm interested in how much revenue it generates per month.
Have many people upgraded to the premium version without ads?

Revenue:-) It's about 10$ per month, ads + premium install. But if I cover my costs related with used API, I will be satisfied. App is relatively new and number of active users is increasing, so it could be better. I developed same App for Windows Mobile few years ago, but due Microsoft's decision it was lost time. I can use some experiences, but Android environment it's for me new.

Update button - I can make auto update every time when user changes route or segment, but it increase number of API transactions -> my costs. So maybe in future, if will be the App generate bigger revenue.
