I tried it out and I like the simplicity but it doesn't seem to be persistent. To I have to tap on Voice app every time I want to open something?

First of all, Thanks for your comment!

Regarding your doubt...

Main activity needs to be open every time you want to use a voice command. the reason is if we run this as a service in the background sometimes, if you are speaking can cause some false rejects and open some app that you dont want to open.

I hope this clarify your doubts

Also, once you open main activity, if you press back button, you will find an scroll which determine the sensibility for the voice recognition, I recommend it to set it as the medium value, but you also can test with different values in order to find the best for your mobile!
