I developed a new Android app which helps you follow your favorite on-line stuff, directly from a widget.
It sends you, on a regular time interval, the content updates from your favorite websites. Which is:
- news headlines, the price development for a certain product, score updates, etc...
When something changes (such as: a new headline appears on the CNN news, the price of a product has changed, etc) you receive a notification on your mobile device.
It relies on Xpath expressions. Thus, you can extract almost anything from the page source of a website.
However, this makes it less accessible for those who are not technical people.
