my friend has an application that he downloaded but it is no longer available on the market. how can i take the app off of his phone and copy it to my phone? when i hook up the phone to the comp i cant find it....

If he has the apk file, he can just email it to you, text it, bluetooth, usb transfer, etc. If he doesn't have the apk file, he would have to be rooted to be able to make a backup of the app, and you would have to be rooted to install that backup.

What's the app if you don't mind my asking? With rooted users spread out here and there throughout the forums you might have better luck finding one that has the app in question on their phone.
