Applications and memory

Hi!

So I'm checking the memory usage using a File Manager application. I've had my phone, the HTC Desire, for just over a week now. And it puzzles me. I'm checking the memory usage and the File Manager says "Applications 116 out of 147 MB - about 78%". I don't have lots of applications on my phone. I guess I have what anyone would have just getting this awsome phone.

Anyway - 78% already used! One more week and it will be full. What up with that? I thought this phone was made for the future. A few years back and it would be ok.

And yes, I have moved all that I can to the SD card. And yes, I have closed most of the applications that was running.

Still I find the space available for Applications to be extremely low and I fear for the usability if I have to uninstall applications so I can install others.

Any views on this?

You will get the normal, 'you can root it to move more apps2sd", "you can get rid of pointless apps" and responses like that but your not the only one getting annoyed with the lack of memory.

This issue is by far the most annoying problem that I deal with with my phone.....on an almost daily basis. The multiple daily clearing of the caches, backing up and deleting text messages and having to seriously weigh the pro's and con's of so many apps to see which one I could delete has become quite tiresome. I run through the app list quite often trying to find some to get rid of. This brings me to the other annoying situation of not being able to download soooooo many cool apps because I just can't spare the space:(

Many app devs have begun providing app2sd but it's far from enough IMO. Since some apps probably cannot function as well being stuck in the sd, I have a feeling I won't see apps2sd in as many apps as we'd like:(

Nevertheless, I'm still enjoying my N1;)
