apps bandwidth use and spying

there is spyware that hits our computers now and that seems to not be illegal, I would suggest aps and perhaps google do the same..... just gone through another 50mb on my Samsung without trying.......

There's plenty of debate. There's little debate based on authoritative information though.

Keep in mind what Google's core business is. They will collect and use data for their core business, obviously.
 
When I used an app that accessed Latitude I got an email telling me that my position was available and would I like to disconnect.
Google is aware of concerns.
Other companies, no idea.
