Hey!

I've got this problem for a few months now where some app icons get deleted automatically from my desktop on start-up.

First I figured this was due to some apps being installed on my SD card, yet it does not affect all of them.

None of the pre-installed apps get deleted, some of the manually installed do get deleted, some don't.

Would be cool and appreciated if somebody could help me figure this out, as it is quite annoying and time-consuming to keep readding the apps to my desktop. On top of that my desktop is ordered by color, so even more work to re-do it every time my phone reboots.

Note: it's not just when my phone runs out of battery, but also when it's a manual reboot.

FYI: not sure if this helps, but here's a screenshot of one of the desktop pages:

Apps missing here are: Evil Defenders, Pinterest, Viber, Amazon and Messenger. They are all on the SD card, but so are King of Thieves and Skyward.

My phone is NOT rooted and is running KitKat 4.4.2

Thanks in advance!

Android dropped official support for moving apps to the sd card back after Gingerbread, precisely because of these support headaches.

Startup, boot up, processes run in parallel.

A physical sd card is *slower* and cannot be counted on to be fully ready when the desktop is.

Back when apps to sd was officially supported Google and every dev with a widget warned to not put things on the sd card that you want to put on the desktop.

Sorry but there it is.
