Apps keep blocking up my data connection!

This situation happens over and over again where various apps try to connect to the net, and when they do this it stops firefox or whatever app I am currently using from accessing the net. How do I stop this from happening?

If you've got Marshmallow 6.x or later on your whatever it is phone, tablet or TV box you should be able to stop the apps you like from connecting to the internet.

What apps are trying to connect? Most will poll occasionally to check for messages/notifications like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. or email and text, but it shouldn't be transferring enough data to cause interruptions.

The only exceptions I can think of would be an extremely slow internet connection (2G or EDGE), a large number of apps all trying to sync at the same time, or huge data transfers like backups, app updates or OS downloads. Maybe streaming media or media downloads?

If you know the apps that are causing the problems, listing them would be helpful.

Twitter, Wunderground, Office Suite, Adobe... Adobe is a big one, um... there are more, I just can't remember them.

And I have G to LTE speeds.

Actually, wunderground will sometimes interfere with itself connecting to the net. If the push notification tries to update while in airplane mode, many times I cannot update main part of app after getting out of airplane mode. Then I have to force stop to get it to work again.
