apps lunch themselves in the background

Why do so many apps have to start itself in the background?
After some time they will just lunch themselves and run in the background eating up all my memory.

WHY?!

Is there ANY way to prevent this because it eats up all my battery life.

I wish there was a program that blocks ANY program from lunching itself unless I allow it to / start it myself.

You probably set those apps to auto-update and that i why they do that.

where exactly do i do that? to be honest i didn't set up anything anywhere. i just downloaded stuff from the market and everytime i open advanced task killer i see that pretty much EVERY app is running and i never started any of those (camera, google mail, the onion app...)

wish there was a black list on advanced task killer
also whats odd it doesn't even seem to delete my stuff. i kill it in advanced task killer and it won't get displayed there anymore but if i hold the HOME button a bunch of apps get displayed i had just killed so i don't know whats up with that either.

If you still have problems, set ATK to auto kill apps and make sure you set exceptions in there so it does not kill stuff like widgets and apps you want to run.
