Apps not available on certain handsets?

So I've just released my game onto the market place, and I asked a friend to find it and test it out, but he can't find it. We both go onto the marketplace, search 'Space Squadron' and I get it as the second result, and he doesn't get it at all. I've even tested the APK file on his phone, and the game runs perfectly, so it shouldn't be an automatically compatibility filter, or anything.

Anyone have an ideas why this could be the case?

I think the problem may be related to the android firmware of a device. I have no idea how the developer stuff works, but I think that you have to set a version for you app to be used under i.e android 2.XX or such.


Also location may play a role in this as well. I think that some places may not have access to a paid apps if they are in a region with no payment options.
