Help Apps not installing with error 910 and the tablet crashes when it updates Play Store

This problem started after rebooting my tablet (Lenovo Tab3 7 Essentials TB3-710F). I purchased my tablet months after its release date.

Problem: I need to update some of my apps and when I updated Gmail and YouTube Studio or installed new apps like Show Java, I get an error when installing (after downloading an app, and in the app installation phase) with an error code of 910 and when I installed it manually using the ADB version that's compatible with Android 5.0, it revealed what is the error code of 910, known as INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT. That means that it failed to optimize all classes.dex in the APK.

Although that, I managed to update or install some of my apps successfully, like Discord, ShaderWall, Slack, UserLAnd (run your Linux distro on SSH or VNC), etc.

If the Logcat details are needed, tell me and I will post them whenever I have time. I am busy at the time of writing so I didn't bother to Logcat.

A more severe problem has come. When the tablet tried to auto-update Play Store, it downloads successfully, but when it tries to install, it either crashes my tablet (soft-rebooting - takes 7 minutes), or takes ages to update, which ends up failing.

Also, I experienced the long booting time from the app installing issue. It took almost 7 minutes to get the tablet to show me a lockscreen.

Is this problem fixable without performing a factory reset? If so, how?

1. Disable wifi AND data
2. Uninstall the Playstore app UPDATES
3. Clear the Playstore data AND cache
4. Reboot the device
5. Enable wifi and/or data
6. Wait for the Playstore app to update
7. Let us know what happens...

I did all of this, and the old version of Play Store (5.9.12) doesn't even try to update itself because it isn't downloading the new version, and when I try to update some apps, after downloading, it gets stuck on updating, then gives me an error saying "<App> can't be installed. Try again, and if the problem continues, get help troubleshooting (Error code: -504)"

Did you try and update the playstore app manually???...

Having a very similar problem with the play service beta version only way I phone to get around it was to set up a worker profile through a third-party app and that let me get latest update of play service but only for my worker profile

Reinstall google play store completely go online and get a playstore apk most trusted from apkpure if they have it.

hi

I am having a similar problem.

1 work around I found was to cancel all pending down loads which left 1 app stuck in "Install". I found that by deleting the app I could then update the other apps. However, I would advise that you deactivate auto updates and update 1 app at a time leaving all update which form part of multiple apps (e.g. google maps) until last as you may find you are locked back into the update cycle.

Hope this helps

Regards
