Help Apps not listed under "Draw over other apps" settings

Hi,

I am using Micromax AQ4502 mobile with android version 6.0.1

After update the android version to 6.0.1. My apps not listed under "Draw over other apps".

If I trying to change the app permission, settings redirect to "Draw over other apps settings page". But I could not find my apps under this setting. So I can't change the permission.

Example: Whatsapp not listed under that setting. So I could not enable the access the contact permission. So, I could see friends phone no instead of name.

Please help me.

Regards,
Shaksha Bala.

Hi

You need to disable all apps that use a screen overlay before you can change the permissions for the app you are trying to install.

Hi,

Thank you so much :):):):):).

I thought, disable the screen overlay option of which app wants to change the permission.

You are saved my life.....

Hi,

Can I maintain all the app in disable mode? It will affect any progress or not, if all the app in disable mode.

How was this issue solved? I tried disabling Draw over other app setting for all the listed apps as suggested above. Still I cant find the app I am looking for (Paytm App) in the list.

I am unable to find Paytm App in "Draw over other app" setting option. I have done following on my Oneplus One Marshmallow:

1) Downloaded and open Paytm app. It asks for Overlay settings with an "Open Setting" option. When I go to the list, Paytm app is not listed.
2) Facing this issue after I clicked on Reset all app Preferences in an attempt to debug another problem where Paytm app was listed but the enable option for "Draw over other app" was greyed out.
3) Open my Oneplus one in Safe mode and enabled all Permissions. The issue still persists.

I searched plenty of threads but none is of any help.

Any help?

I uninstalled and reinstalled whatsapp, switched phone on and off - no joy. Then I made more memory available by deleting unused apps, et voila, whatsapp working again and no longer getting annoying 'screen overlay' pop up message.

First I didnt find the apps like watsapp, paytm,etc... under "Draw over other apps" setting page. So I simply rebooted the device in safe mode(press and hold power button for 3 seconds, it will pop up shutdown and reboot option, press and hold shutdown for 3 seconds, it will popup reboot in safemode, click ok). There in safe mode I just followed the following steps, Setting->Apps->Select required app from list->Permission->Enable all. Again reboot the device to normal mode(Normal reboot will take you to normal mode). In this way it is working fine.
