Apps & space on phone

My phone keeps telling me I'm low on space. In 'my files' there is a sub file called APKS that shows the same ap several time eg. Messenger x 8 taking aprox 37mb each. Facebook x 6 taking aprox 52mb each. They each have different dates. Are each of them essential updates?
Can I delete any of them to free up space?
You will have noticed I'm not so good with this stuff so I'm very grateful for any help. Thanks.

Just uninstall all of them....
Then, if you still want them, reinstall them from the play store

I know Facebook is a notorious data hog, If you do need to use FB on your phone, I think either use Facebook Lite, which is what I use, or just access it from the browser.

Which "Messenger" app are you referring to?

It's Microsoft Messenger
