Root Apps that Disappear

I hope this is the right place to post this. I'm a bit of newb with this so please bear with me. I installed the BH_Man Behold II Stock 1.6 (no twiz) Take5 Rom a couple of months ago after trying a couple other ones and not caring for them. It's seemed nice a stable without too many fc's. A few weeks ago though my phone started going really slow and sometimes it would think the market was uninstalled, but the short cut would remain and if I waited, sometimes I could use the market later without restarting. So I had some free time last night and decided to re-flash the rom and that went off without a hitch and it seemed to be working fine last night and the phone was much faster too. (I know, dl less apps lol). I didn't try to set up a2sd or anything like that. This morning though, one of the apps disappeared. Android Assistant. I hadn't had it on my phone before and was just trying it out so it could be problem with the app, but then it happened again this morning with Twicca and while I hadn't tried it either before this morning, I've heard of people using it without problems.

So my long-winded question is: Why would an app suddenly disappear? When this happens the shortcut remains, but becomes generic and it's not in the app tray and if you go into the market, the market isn't aware I have it and you can just download it again.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I know, it's weird to reply to my own thread. lol I cleared the Dahlvik cache and installed apps 2 sd and it hasn't happened since. If anyone else on here has the same problem or is curious about a2sd, I used this thread http://androidforums.com/behold-2-all-things-root/56554-how-a2sd-galaxy-behold-2-roms.html

If anyone else on here is lacking the same knowledge I am, I can mention that I tried it at first and it didn't work, but the problem was that I tried to format the card in the phone using recovery and it didn't format the card at all. So I looked up ways to install partitions on an sd card, including one in ext2 format and swap while I was at it. Since I use XP and am too lazy to install linux just to format an sd card I search and searched and it took awhile to find freeware that could do it. I ended up with Minitool Partition Wizard and it's free, had a nice UI and worked. I didn't even have to push the a2sd files over adb again. With the partitioned card, I've used 8 MB on my phone after installed at least 15 apps.

nice to here you got it to work. i used the built in recovery and it worked for me. i dont why it didnt work for you. i did have some problems with apps2sd though.
