Apps that you use and would recommend.

It would be interesting and possibly helpful see what apps different members's forum use and why. Try and limit it to your top 5 or 6.
To kick it off, here are mine.

MacroDroid – allows users to capitalize on the massive flexibility inherent in android without rooting the phone. Can automate practically every function.
Waze – superb navigation app with very timely traffic updates and built in social interaction.
ES File Explorer – very powerful file Explorer.
Nova Launcher – eliminates the limitations of Touchwiz and provides powerful flexibility.
Swiftkey – keyboard replacement with excellent swipe and word predictive capabilities.
G Sam Battery Monitor – excellent tool to monitor battery usage and identify hogs.
 
 
I use all the apps already noted, but if you like taking notes, i recommend Evernote over the stock apps.

And CCleaner is good as a simpler alternative to SD Maid.

I'm not clear on something....what's the use of Package Disabler, if Samsung already offers you the possibility to disable most of the bloat?

There's a lot of bloat that cannot be disabled,namely KNOX, & other carrier/Samsung apps/.apks.

I just like to have the choice of disabling the items that I do not use,whether they're running/using resources,or not.
Some bloat does,some doesn't.
I'm still considering returning this device if a bootloader unlock isn't found in a couple days,so that I can run a ROM w/o all the B/S that Samsung insists on installing w/o an option to uninstall.............
 
My favorite apps are the stock Android ones, they do more than enough for my needs.

I have never been a fan of disabling, forcing removal and cleaning type apps as when and if a problem happens you never know if its really the problem or it's due to you disabling something or using a non stock app, why Apple does not allow some changes. It's already happening not sure here or another forum but people just disabling and changing things then later on finding it effects this and that.

If your not happy using the phone like it comes, and feel the need to change everything about it, then do not get it are my thoughts.

Oh yeah... I hear ya. Kinda like having a laptop or desktop computer and never installing any programs on same. Well, this makes little sense to me but to each his own.

There's some things that come on an iPhone that I'd never use, iBooks, Shares, the Facebook and Twitter stuff in iOS, both of which are rather useless in this country.I did actually buy the first iPhone, and the first thing I did was to jailbreak it..LOL! ...primarily to remove the SIM-lock and O2 only activation crap.

I bought new Macbook Air quite recently, came with GarageBand, I'm not going to be using that, I'm not a musician. Didn't actually uninstall GarageBand, just removed it from the dock. I bought it because I do like the way OS X runs and works, and my previous laptop was also a Macbook. And I don't use Facetime either.
