What does package life invald mean?

Invalid package file is usually indicative of an application not being compatible with your version of Android. I beleive there was a problem with one of the later updates to Play causing issues with updates.

It's a potential bad download, sometimes it can be fixed by doing this: Settings -> Apps -> Google Play Services -> Clear Cache/Data -> Reboot.
