stop apps auto downloading

I guess I don't have enough information: do you want Play to stop trying to put new apps on a homescreen by itself, or is something actually downloading installing apps without your approval?
If it's the first, that's easy: Open Play and go to Settings (3 dots in the upper right, select Settings) and UNCHECK "Auto-add widgets". Done.
If it's the second, that's bad: sounds like a malware app has been installed that is trying to install MORE malware apps. Install and run AVG Antivirus Security. Full scan. Something is wrong and needs to be stopped quickly... those methods vary by device, so Google is your friend in that case. Hope this helps.
