Alright folks... First of all I do not consider myself a gamer. I play Lego star wars and Indiana Jones with my kids on this PC.. Nothing more advanced than that till about a year ago.
Although the following rig is my personal web designs system, I manage multiple sites and networks all over the US...that is about it. Old system crashed about March 2012..
Here is the current system:
CASE: Rosewill Challenger ATX
CPU: AMD A8-3870K APU, and unlocked with Radeon 6550d
MB: GIGABYTE A75 UD4H and updated bios
RAM:2X4gb GSKILL rip jaws DDR3 1600
PSU: Raidmax 730w hybrid
HDD: 1X 120G OCZ VERTEX3 SSD, and 1X SAMSUNG 2TB, 6gb/s
OS: WIN8 PRO 64Bit with media center
A year ago I started playing Skyrim. Bought it to "test" the graphics (at least that's the story my wife said was okay). Have been playing it no problem on my 21" Samsung led tv/monitor, connected via HDMI. All high settings, although I don't remember the resolution settings off the top of my head. Recently moved the computer to the living room, hooked up to our new SAMSUNG UN46EH6030FXZA led tv... And skyrim is killing the computer. Literally overheating. So I ordered a water cooler this weekend.
Everything I am reading says to add the water cooler, but even with that, I need to add another video card to run skyrim on this tv.
So should I pair a Radeon 6770 since the card and MB will link with the APU with crossfire? Or should I buy a GTX 500 or 600 series? Or a Radeon 7900 series?
Prefer Newegg or something similar..
Other suggestions?
Thanks in advance for the help!
