At night when I set my alarm on my arc s I've noticed that when my charger is not plugged in it doesn't go into screensaver mode(that might not ne the best description) it's when the digital clock lights up in a green and moves around randomly when it's idle. My question is is it possible to have this without having to put my phone on charge because I'm having to press the home key to see the time on my phone at night. I hope my query is understood as I'm not all that great at explaining things. Thanks for any replies I may have.

I don't think that is possible. You need to have it connected the charger to make it go into the screen saver mode. Otherwise you will have to keep pressing the Home button to see the time.
