My previous Galaxy S4 broke so I received a new one from insurance. i downloaded Arcgis today. When I opened it and tried to view any map (e.g., dupage county trails) it said "Sorry but arcgis stopped"). This happened several time. I thought maybe a memory problem so I moved it to the SD card. My phone had 2.7G free but it still kept stopping every time I tried to open a map. I restarted the phone and stopped some services but still the same problem.
Do you know what could be wrong? it used to work fairly well on my old phone, same make and model, which had a lot more installed on it. The only thing I can think of is the one I installed today, Oct 14, 2015, is a newer version of Arcgis. And yes I did uninstall and reinstall but same problem.
I contacted the author and she (or he, I can't tell by the name) advised the following but it did not help:
1.Open Settings à Application Manager
2.Find ArcGIS app à Force Stop à OK
3.Still at ArcGIS app à Clear Data à OK. If Clear Cache button is enabled, clear cache as well.
4. Now reopen the ArcGIS app, it should work.
I would strongly encourage you to use “Explorer for ArcGIS” app, also free at Play store. It is the “next generation” ArcGIS app. Please give it a try.
I should add I downloaded to my Samsung Tablet and it was fine. At first I thought Juice Defender might be killing it, but I uninstalled Juice Defender and still the same problem. Is there any other app that could be killing/interfering with it?
