I recently bought an LG GT540, managed to workout to upgrade it using LG Suite to Android version 2.1.
However on 2.1 you can only use ''google market'', as Playstore isn't available until 2.2 operating system.
So far the only apps ive downloaded and used are superuser, titanium backup, and apk installer.
The 2 apps that I wanted to use both had problems functioning though.
I downloaded the Pof dating site app from Google market, but when I tried to log-in to my account on there through the app it just kept saying ''Please check that the clock on your device is accurate and that you are connected to the internet''.
And so I cannot use that app.
And the Youtube app that came pre-loaded with the phone, when I tried to use it, it just kept on saying ''No network available'', even though I have full unlimited internet on the simcard tariff that I use for the smartphone.
So I uninstalled the youtub app, but hen I went to google market to try re-installing, there is no youtube app available! :S
I know that as the versions of these apps were the ones designed for android 2.1 (so approx 4 years old now), that they are very outdated,
and that Pof + youtube will have released dozens of updated versions of their app over the last 4years.
But is it 'normal and correct' that outdated versions of apps stop working after a certain number of years??
OR
Is there some kinda problem with my phone?
Thanks
